The FHIE is a series of questions evaluating your knowledge on specific systems of the home. Some questions evaluate your general understanding of processes and procedures of a home inspection and may not specifically be found in a textbook.
We encourage you to find a mentor who may be able to assist you with the procedures of the home inspection process.
While some tests evaluate basic knowledge of the systems of the home, the FHIE was developed to truly evaluate the preparation of an individual to begin inspecting once licensed.
Although FABI offers an approved exam for licensing (FHIE), we do not offer the 120-hour pre-licensing course. If you are looking for information on available courses please visit this link or this link.
The test is offered nationwide and can be scheduled on days convenient to the test taker. Tests are given at Prometric Testing Centers – once you register and pay you will receive a confirmation with a login to Prometric’s website to select your nearest testing center, date and time to take the exam.
